KGNA Solutions is looking for a talented and dynamic person to fill the role of Controller for Paradise Show & Design.This is an opportunity to work in an environment that is extremely fast paced, and ever changing. Truly no two days are the same.

Base compensation for this position is $70k - $80k based on experience and skill set.

Paradise Show and Design is a full-service staging and production company headquartered in Orlando, Florida. We’re experts in large-scale lighting, sound, video and scenic design and build – but never too big to focus on the details of small programs and events.

Our Sweet Spot

Our sweet spot is in looking at the whole picture, and seamlessly integrating all elements. For example, designing the big-name entertainment sound and lighting requirements directly into the business meeting, evaluating environments using floor plans and elevations, incorporating business meeting support or special event and hospitality program support. We use our planning intelligence to seek economies of scale and cost savings wherever possible. 

Major Responsibilities

The Controller will assist in the development and execution of Paradise Show/launch Group’s financial strategies to support business goals and objectives while supporting the company’s mission, vision and values. This is a senior level position that is responsible for the overall direction of the day to day responsibilities of the Accounting Department through the oversight of the President/Owner. The position requires a strong foundation of accounting knowledge and practices to carrying out the principles and standards, meeting and exceeding the Company’s legal and regulatory responsibilities.

  • Managing day-to-day accounting and cash flow maintenance (including payroll processing, accounts receivable and collections, and accounts payable distributions)
  • Preparing and publishing effective financial and management reports.
  • Forecast cash flow needs in a timely manner and be proactive in sequencing payable based on priority.
  • Process payroll.
  • Establishing, documenting and maintaining the organization's accounting policies, practices and procedures.
  • Reviewing local, state and federal tax returns and tax provisions for accuracy .
  • Demonstrating expertise in applicable accounting concepts, practices, and procedures with a thorough knowledgeable of GAAP as it applies to the respective industry.
  • Establishing, documenting and maintaining a system of internal controls to safeguard Company assets and ensure proper segregation of duties.
  • Streamlining accounting processes to optimize cost and time effectiveness - maintaining a scorecard of key processing performance indicators.
  • Preparing annual general and administrative (“G&A”) budgets.
  • The Controller is the Company’s main point of contact for accounting related inquiries and serves as the primary reference for all things accounting-related on a day to day basis. 
  • Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals;
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment within the organization's “day to day” accounting function.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 
  • A wide degree of problem-solving creativity and latitude is expected.

Requirements

  • The position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 10 years of direct experience in the field. A CPA is preferred.
  • To be comfortable in a position of authority that has significant overall impact on the Company’s financial well being.
  • The ability to work in an environment that is ever changing while juggling multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Previous experience working in an event production, manufacturing environment preferred
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to Paradise Show/Launch Groups mission; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will in partnership with the President/Owner, oversee financial operations
  • Advanced working knowledge, including job costing, of QuickBooks -- 5+ years’ experience
  • Solid experience managing reporting, financial analysis, budget development, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for capital investments.
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to ownership.
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts/reports to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
  • MS Office and email proficiency
